Pindrafter

The pindrafter prepares rovings for spinning on the ring spinner. Three or more rovings are fed into the machine at one time, blending them evenly. Combs straighten the individual fibers, blend the rovings, and help to pick out some of the remaining bits of debris and some broken fibers. Two trips through our pindrafter are usually sufficient to produce a sliver that will spin with minimal problems.

We do not build the pindrafter, but we can acquire one for you. It can be a new machine built for us by a manufacturer in North Carolina, or it can be a used industrial machine that we will refurbish for you. These machines also have attached coilers, to keep the sliver in good order for feeding into the machine spinner.
