Today is July 2, 2008 and the new spinner is in its final stages of construction. We hope to have it in our mill by August 1. This week was spent with Paul Carter. Paul is retired from Whitin Roberts Textile Company, where he spent 44 years as a Technical Representative for Whitin in the spinning area of the company. Paul has set up mills all over the world. I am very happy to have him on the team. Paul will visit the mill of the people buying the new spinner. He will spend a few days helping familiarize the new owners with the machine and will be available to answer questions on the phone or revisit your mill at your request. The new machine is being designed, as have all of our machines, to be able to produce good quality yarn at a productive rate. The machines are built for my wife Deb. She sets down the requirements as to what she needs in a machine because she runs them daily in her mill. The new spinner will be the first of its kind. You will be able to spin with 8 heads on one side and ply with 8 heads on the opposite side at the same time. This will double the output of the spinner. The spinner will have all the features of our Whitin 24 head machine. It will spin fiber up to 10 inches long plus the roll speed will be electrically controlled. I should have a few pictures to post in a few days. Visit our site again soon for more updates, and Feel free to contact me for more information. Chuck |
